Joe Morgan - Major League Baseball LegendPrograms: Motivation, Sports, Inspiration, Baseball Location: California Joe Morgan is considered the best second basemen ever. He was one of the talented players that made Cincinnati's Reds the best team of the 1970s. He played in four World Series and was a winner in three. Morgan was named to eight consecutive All-Star teams (1972-79) and received MVP honors in 1975 and '76. After 22 seasons, Morgan retired with a lifetime batting average of .271 and a fielding average of .981. He was the first second baseman to play 2,000 games, hit 200 home runs and steal 600 bases. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1990 -- the first year he was eligible. Morgan has written two books, Joe Morgan: A Life in Baseball and Baseball for Dummies. In 2000, he was elected vice chairman of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. With his retirement in 1984, Joe transferred his drive for excellence from baseball to broadcasting. He is currently a television baseball analyst for NBC and is currently the color analyst for ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball. Morgan's presentation is very inspirational with great stories as
he relates his experiences to the audience.
