Music/Act: Big Band/Orchestra, Combos, Mid Size Band, and Latin/International Band Add a note of elegance to your next event. Choose from the variety of groups led by a versatile Bandleader who feels equally at home in the intimate setting of a trio, fronting his dynamic Jazz and Pop Combo, Variety 8-piece ensemble, Latin/International Band or surrounded by the ever appealing harmonies of the Big Band Sound. Vicho Vicencio will help you find the musical style suited for your festive event. BIG BAND: 12 to 17 musicians, including a female vocalist and/or male vocalist. Dynamic trumpets and trombones, elegant saxophones doubling woodwinds, backed by precise rhythm provided by piano, bass , drums and guitar. All are experienced professionals able to switch easily from traditional to contemporary styles. The authentic Big Band Sound of Goodman, Dorsey, Basie and Ellington plus recent hits adapted to the big band format. Expect New York swing, West Coast push, romantic boleros, fiery Sambas and Mambos. And suddenly find yourself back in our times with the songs you love by Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Cheryl Crowe and Ricky Martin. THE MOONDANCE ORCHESTRA: For very special gala events our Big Band becomes a traditional orchestra with the addition of 9 strings. The library is reminiscent of Hollywood and Broadway and very much inspired by one of Vicho's heroes, Henry Mancini. While the pop/rock segment of the band's library remains the same, the lush strings add another dimension to the overall sound.
9-PIECE FORMAT: Add guitar and an extra horn to the above for a fuller, livelier sound making use of our extensive Standards and Pop-rock-disco repertoire. From Glenn Miller through Sinatra, Bacharach and Jobim, THE MOONDANCE BAND will recreate Van Morrison, Motown and all those happy dance songs that will instantly entice the young and the young-at-heart to the dance floor!
The QUARTET is the crowd-pleasing mini-band ideal for listening and for DANCING ! A mix of yesterdays hits and today best instrumentals. A unique alternative for your upcoming wedding, cocktail party or any gathering that requires soft, elegant background music. MOONDANCE WOODWINDS is a quartet composed of flutes, clarinet and soprano saxophone in different combinations, backed by guitar as an accompanying instrument as well as soloist. The repertoire ranges from Classical (Haendel's Water Music, Purcells's Trumpet Voluntary, J.S.Bach Ave Maria) to romantic songs (All I ask of you, Unforgettable, When I fall in love, Windmills of your mind, Someone to watch over me) and contemporary instrumentals (The look of love, Songbird, Overjoyed, St. Elmo's fire theme, Yesterday, In my life (Beatles) etc.. Ideal for house parties, this small group doesn't need much space and can perform totally un-amplified, if acoustic conditions allow.

LATIN: Vicho Vicencio's current Latin ensemble is a reincarnation of the original
Casino Band, a very popular 7-piece outfit headquartered for four years at GENARO'S TROPICAL
Mexican Restaurant in the Lakewood area of East Dallas during the eighties. The early nineties
brought back the passion for Latin dancing, so Vicho reorganized his latin group, this time
up-dating its name to THE NEW CASINO BAND. Now concentrating mostly on private and corporate
parties and a few prestigious club spots (Sambuca Jazz Cafe 1999-2000), the band is enjoying
a new life playing Latin Jazz, Salsa, Caribbean and Brazilian styles, while making new fans
