Music: Broad range from blues, to show, to pop
Gerry Moss can perform and headline either as a single artist self accompanied on guitar and/or keyboards or with his band, Mossman; which performs as a 3 or 4 piece group.
Although Gerry is primarily a blues artist, he can perform a broad range of material from blues, to show, to pop. This reflects his experiences from his childhood to the present encompassing more than four decades as an entertainer. In addition to guitar, Gerry is accomplished on banjo, mandolin, bass guitar, Dobro guitar, and keyboards.
For a time, Gerry was the bass guitar player with Lloyd Price (Personality, Stagger Lee, Lawdy Miss Claudy). He has also performed in shows with rhythm and blues artists such as Bobby “Blue” Bland, Albert Collins, Rufus Thomas, Lloyd Price, and Buddy Guy. On the country side he has performed with Merle Haggard, George Jones, Willie Nelson, Charlie Pride, Hank Williams, Jr., and Clint Black’s band. In the pop/rock field, Gerry has performed with Joe Walsh, Stevie Winwood, Johnny Rivers, and with Paul McCartney’s band.
Mossman is a loose connection of four guys who live in four different towns in three different states. They never see each other except to play. They perform with abandon, yet are very tight. Their performances are liberated but not reckless. Visit the “Links” page of this site to view a video of the Mossman band. This video will say more about Mossman than any words can tell. Mossman is a fantastic band.
